Marine Hydrocolloids was started by Mr. Kurian Jose in 1982 with a plan to produce AGAR AGAR food grade (China Grass). After few years of continuous R&D efforts by our in-house experts, Bacteriological and Pharmaceutical grade AGAR AGAR was unveiled in 1989. Since then, we have never looked back and registered continuous growth to reach an overall production capacity of over 300 M.T per annum. We also export & supply Agar Agar Bacteriological Grade, Wondergel (Spreadable Agar Agar), Agarose, Plantgel (Gellan Gum) Carageenan, Carrageenan Powder, etc. Incoming raw material is thoroughly examined before its usage in the production process. Moreover, at our Cochin, Kerala based unit, we implement leading-edge technology in the entire production process to make the products as per the set industry standards. It is our consistent supply of supreme quality products which has earned us a huge list of satisfied clients.

Kurian Jose JR, CEO- Mr. Kurian Jose JR has spearheaded the growth of the company with a modern outlook and handles International Sales and New Business Development and Procurement. With a proven track record of revenue and profit growth, he has been able to successfully guide the company with new products and enter new markets.
Joseph Jose, Director- In his role aspart of the leadership team,he is responsible for establishing and driving operations across the company and transforming the company through technology and modern systems. He is also looking after all aspects of integrated corporate communications along with sales and marketing initiatives.
Infrastructure, Factory
Our state of the art factory is strategically located in the port city of Cochin in Kerala, South India. Our production line is equipped with the latest in technology and our trained personnel have experience and expertise in the field.
Safety is also a priority area for us and the safety of our employees in the workplace is one of the key operating principles that guides our work.The plant complies with all major environment and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) protocols. Our facility is ISO 22000:2018, HACCP, KOSHER, HALAL & FSSAI certified. We also possess Drug License as per government norms.
Laboratory & Quality Assurance
We have a modern and well equipped laboratoryto conduct all the chemical and microbiology tests to assure our products comply with international standards. We have a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for all our operations at the plant and the quality assurance department ensures that procedures are adhered to. The batch numbering system ensures the traceability of our products across our production line. We make every effort to ensure our products are of the highest quality and produced following stringent safety protocols. The quality assurance department has procedures which start with evaluation of raw materials and lasts up to dispatch of finished goods. The control lab personnel undertake the analysis of raw material, intermediate products, and final products and the quality assurance department independently oversees and if required, checks the analysis.

We have an advanced R&D department with a pilot plant where all new products are processed and tested before large scale commercial production.
