Types of Carrageenan Used

Iota Carrageenan: Provides a soft, elastic, and clear gel. It is highly valued for producing toothpastes with excellent thixotropoxy meaning it thins when squeezed from the tube and thickens once on the brush.

Kappa Carrageenan: Provides a firmer, more rigid, and brittle gel structure, often blended with cellulose gums or Iota to achieve the perfect body.

Lambda Carrageenan: Non gelling, often utilized purely as a viscosity enhancer in liquid formulations or suspension toothpastes
